My Bipolar Journey

From Diagnosis To TodayHey, there! My name is Andrea; I am a writer, new-wife and mother. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder about 13 years ago. As a teenager, I was scared and confused.

Over the year I found myself struggling to find literature, case studies and people with real life experience to help guide me to make educated decisions about my illness. I remember long nights of suicidal thoughts, just trying to make it until the sun rose the next morning. I have acted in self-harm, cutting, and bulimia, dangerous ‘activities,’ the list continues. I’ll drank myself stupid to numb the pain on more occasions than I can to count. Now, as a functioning and stable person with a mental illness, I want to help others find the resources and support that they need. Through my blog posts and resource page, I hope that you can find help for you and support team, so you don’t have to go through the same struggles as I have.

Finally, after nine years of destruction, I found the right medication and dosages to stabilize my disorder. Now, a functioning member of society, I want to help others find the resources and support that they need to thrive. Through my blog posts and resources, I hope that you can find help for you and support team, so you don’t have to go through the same struggles as I have. Mental illness can’t be cured but if we ban together, support each other and educate others we can change this world one person at a time.

You and your loved ones don’t have to struggle every day to survive. We can be happy; there is support, and your can make a difference.
